Pioneers of Purpose: An Artistic Tribute to Black Women of Impact, an exhibit curated and presented by the Redd Family Collection of Black Art and Rainbow Serpent Collective. The exhibition, through its selection of 20 artworks, pays homage to three monumental Black women: Harriet Tubman, Fannie Appling Douglass, and Ruth Hartley Mosley, each deeply intertwined with Macon’s rich history and heritage; it is a narrative thread connecting the present community of Macon to its rich, historical tapestry.  The exhibition also marks a significant milestone for the Redd Family Collection of Black Art, as it represents the family’s first art installation in Macon, Georgia, in over two decades. Since the closure of their Miracles Fine Art Gallery in 1998, this exhibition in 2024 at the Douglass Theater emerges not just as a revival of their presence in Macon’s art scene but also as a beacon of cultural and historical reconnection.   Join in as we celebrate Mr. Charles H. Douglass 154th Birthday Anniversary with this exclusive exhibition.
